Who Qualifies For The Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.

Applications at the moment are open and may shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the subsequent criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house with a combined gross house earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined family profits doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any proof of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the correct Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or intend to research in a general public nsfas 2025 university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
